Eleven Rural Schools have been selected to introduced Distance Learning education facility. The Ministry of Education said that this will be helpful for those teacher who are really inexperienced and ready to learn. They will would be taught by a telecast lecture.
This system will open the door for for the ministry of education to reach out remote school and rural area. As per ministry of education they believe that this system will bring a cost effective education for all those rural people who can not affording a high priced education now days.
This initiative has been started with a leading Telecommunication company Fiji Ltd for the use of Satellite communication and going to be implemented in Ratu Kadavulevu School, Queen Victoria School and Namosi Secondary.
With Eight Primary and There Secondary school the number would be 11 and majority of this schools in Southern Lau Group. School which would be consider for distance education would be like Onolevu District, Matuatabu District, Namuka-i-Lau District, Duavata Secondary, Kabara District and Kadavu Provincial School.
